Explore the history of Hollywood, once Hollywood-By-The-Sea, a community designed by developer Joseph Young in the 1920s. HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian, Dr. Paul George, will guide you through the area’s past, highlighting the stories behind Hollywood Boulevard and Young Circle, the Hollywood Beach Hotel, and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, a nearly two-and-a-half-mile promenade built along the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
Zoom presentation will feature a lecture by Dr. George accompanied with a visual presentation of contemporary and archival images.
The recording of the program will be available for registered participants to view on-demand for up to one-week should you miss the live program.

Dr. Paul George, Resident Historian
For over three decades, HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian Dr. Paul S. George has toured his way to local, national, and international acclaim with his continuing series of historic tours. Through walking, coach, and boat tour experiences, Dr. George has welcomed tour participants on a memorable journey of South Florida through its historic neighborhoods, landmarks, and sites. As a Miami native, author, and former college professor, Dr. George has gained fame for his uncanny ability to recall the most impressive details about the people and places that make South Florida so unique.
