Maggie Steber: Haitian Photographs

This photography exhibition features powerful images of struggle, determination and triumph captured by world-renowned photojournalist Maggie Steber.

Maggie Steber is an internationally known documentary photographer and former Assistant Managing Editor for Photography and Features at The Miami Herald. She has traveled and worked in 37 countries. Her photographs have appeared in National Geographic Magazine, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, The London Sunday Times and many other publications in the U.S. and Europe. Among her many awards are the First Prize from the World Press Photo Foundation for coverage in Haiti, the Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism from the University of Missouri, the First Prize in Magazine News/Documentary from NPPA Pictures of the year and the Leica Medal of Excellence in Photojournalism. For her work in Haiti, Ms. Steber also received an Alicia Patterson Foundation Grant and an Ernst Haas Grant.
