Dallas Mercier Conklin, 22 months old, standing on a stuffed alligator.
1908.

Dallas Conklin was named for Dallas Park (Miami), where she was born. Dallas Park, one of Miami's first residential subdivisions, was located on the north bank of the Miami River, between present-day Brickell Avenue and Miami Avenue.

Dallas Conklin's mother made the wool bathing suit and slippers Dallas is wearing in this photograph. They are now in the museum artifacts collection.
