Donate an Artifact

HistoryMiami is currently soliciting donations of teen-related artifacts from the 1930s through 1990s for the upcoming Teen Miami exhibition set to open in September 2012.  We are in need of the following items:

Teens and War

  • Draft cards from Vietnam or WWII vets ...who entered the war right after high school
  • Black arm bands worn by students and vets to protest the Vietnam War

Teens and Diversity

  • Textbooks and/or other artifacts from segregated high schools (Mays, Booker T. Washington, Carver, Dorsey)
  • Football (1940s-1960s) artifacts

Teen Consumerism

  • Nintendo video game console
  • 1990s clothing for African-American teens
  • 1950s clothing for Anglo girl

Teens and Music

  • Photos and memorabilia for Miami Sound teen groups (The Antiques, Coke, etc.)
