In partnership with Made by Us Civic Season
The United States is a country founded by the people for the people, but who are the people? Throughout history, the answer to that question has changed. Join us for a civics and U.S. history themed tour to learn how the government operates on a local, state, and federal levels and the role of the individual in each. Participants will investigate the history and relationship between these three governing bodies and how their operations impact our everyday life and community. This program is part of the 2022 Civic Season by Made by US. There is no “we the people” without all the people. Between Juneteenth and the Fourth of July, it’s time to turn out and turn up the volume on our story—in all of its complexity. We’re imagining a new kind of summer tradition to strengthen our democracy, and we invite you to help us shape it. With national, local and digital opportunities, Civic Season has something for everyone. So, whether you have five minutes or a few hours, you have the power to play a role in our democracy. Tour recommended for all ages. Capacity is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
