Did you know over half of our visitors are local? Each year we service roughly 20,000 people through our FREE Family Fun Days, exciting programming, city tours, and showstopping exhibitions.
Founded in 1940, we are the largest private history museum in the State of Florida and house four permanent galleries and up to three traveling exhibits, Archives and Research Center, the South Florida Folklife Center, the Education Center, Center for Photography, and City Tours program.
The Museum has been exhibiting for fifty four years, publishing for seventy-five years, operating a non-circulating library for fifty-four, conducting city tours for forty five years, and educating more than 500,000 students in the area’s rich history for thirty-four.
Your support on Give Miami Day, a 24-hour online giving event, will ensure that HistoryMiami Museum continues its mission of sharing the power of history by telling Miami’s stories.
Your donation could help support the following:
- School Group: A group of 70 students is $500 and a bus per school group of 50 is $200
- Family Fun Day: Our popular free family fun day brings in more than 500 people on average. $1,500 pays for Family Fun Day Crafts.
- Artist in Residence : $5,000. HistoryMiami’s South Florida Folklife Center presents the Heritage Spotlight Series, an annual artist-in-residence program that highlights Miami-area traditional artists and cultures. Each year, the series showcases three individual artists or ensembles and their traditions. Participating artists share their art through public events, school programs, and multimedia products.
