Fossils tell stories about Earth’s history because they show that life on earth was once different from life found on earth today. Join us to learn all about fossils and how they are formed. Make your own fossils and see samples from our education collection.
Craft: Homemade Fossils
- Materials
- 1 cup wet, used coffee grounds
- 1/2 cup cold coffee
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 cup flour
- Parchment or waxed paper
- Items to “fossilize” such as plant leaves, flower petals, tree bark, seashells and/or pine cone.
Program recommended for ages 5 and up. Capacity is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
