Live Demonstration: Ritual Beadworking

Don’t miss the rare chance to watch a master artist at work! During this intimate, one-on-one experience, expert beadworker Mannolie DiSantos will intricately embellish ritual tools used in Afro-Cuban Orisha worship. She will answer your questions about the creation, use, and significance of these commonly misunderstood religious items. Learn about her creative process as she embroiders a cane in honor of the Orisha (deity), Obatala, in a recreated studio space filled with her tools and artistic pieces.
