Opening Party for Tropical Wildlife: Portraits of Miamians, 1991-1996

February 22, 2017

Join HistoryMiami Museum for the opening of Tropical Wildlife: Portraits of Miamians, 1991-1996. Enjoy cocktails and appetizers and browse through dozens of unique images in our gallery. During the early 1990s, one weekly feature in the Miami Herald’s ‘Tropi’c magazine, called “Tropical Wildlife: Distinctive Markings of South Florida Species,” showcased a random Miamian with a full page photograph and accompanying interview, and captured the collective pulse of South Florida’s inimitable psyche, one spirit at a time. On display in this exhibition, curated by photographer and column contributor Brenda Ann Kenneally, are photographs and other archival materials related to the column, as well as reflections by other column contributors.
